Jazz Bridge – Neighborhood Concert Series
Pianist Dave Posmontier hosts “Jazz @ The Center” First Wednesday Neighborhood Concerts Series at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, 439 Ashbourne Road, Cheltenham, PA, 19012. On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, we welcome pianists Dave & Alex Posmontier and their group. Showtime is 7:30-9:00 pm. Tickets: $15 in advance ($20 at the door). Students $5 and children under 12 FREE!
Pianists Dave and Alex Posmontier, a father and son duo, have been performing for decades, but only occasionally with each other. They recently performed a two piano concert at the Delaware Art museum, and a two piano performance for the Tri-State Jazz Society.
On May 1 they will be accompanied by bassist Dave Brodie and drummer Doug Hirlinger doing many original pieces written by Dave and Alex plus a few musical surprises.
Dave started lessons at age 7 and began gigging at 13. Since then he has made music his career, having the good fortune of working with such notable Philadelphia saxophonists as Tony Williams and Larry McKenna, as well as internationally known players such as Christian McBride, James, Moody, Grover Washington, Jr. and Johnny Hartman.
Alex started piano lessons at age 12 and began performing soon after. He has played in jazz festivals around the world and released two albums of original music. He currently lives in Philly with his two cats, has dozens of piano students and also runs a computer repair business. Dave and Alex are looking forward to making music together.
