Cheltenham Neighborhood Concerts presents singer Tyrone Brown and his group

$15Pianist Dave Posmontier hosts “Jazz @ The Center” First Wednesday Neighborhood Concerts Series at the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, 439 Ashbourne Road, Cheltenham, PA, 19012. Showtime is 7:30-9:00 pm. Tickets: $15 in advance ($20 at the door). Students $5 and children under 12 FREE!
Described as the velvety-voiced vocalist by Seattle Times theatre critic Misha Berson, Tyrone Brown is a jazz singer and ambassador for all things Billy Strayhorn. His musical background includes singing with the Northwest Boys Choir and the Seattle Opera, performing in a vocal jazz group and choir, and producing and performing the Billy Strayhorn Project with the Nate Omdal Trio in Seattle, Washington. Brown is excited to be working with the Dave Posmontier Trio and to share the life, legacy and music of Strayhorn with a Philadelphia audience.
Future Philly projects include a; live performance of Strayhorn’s album The Peaceful Side of Jazz (May 2022); Billy Strayhorn Symposium (November 2022); and Bridge to Leon, a music + theatre project inspired by singer, songwriter and record producer Leon Bridges (2023). And yes, Brown is a new resident of the City of Brotherly and Sisterly Love, having moved here in November of 2020.
